Speak to Be Listened To

"I can see how much better every one of my conversations has become"

The communication and influence programme that helps you get more “yeses” in every conversation—with clients, your team and your stakeholders.

You have good ideas, but they get lost in meetings. You explain a lot and persuade very little. They say “we’ll look into it,” and nothing happens. This programme trains you in what happens in the first 30 seconds of a conversation, what to do when the other person says no and how to get them ready to move forward.

Ideal for

  • Managers and directors
  • Sales and account teams
  • Technical professionals who need to persuade other teams
  • Any professional who influences without formal authority

What will you practise?

  • 1. Take control – G.P.S.: start any important conversation with a clear direction in 30 seconds. Speak as an equal: ditch weak hedging and minimising language. Self-talk: don’t let your nerves speak for you.
  • 2. Understand the other person and reach agreement – The 3 Poles of Listening, The Relationship Map and The Human Negotiation Loop: understand what they say, what they don’t say and what you tell yourself. Atomic Steps: when a big yes is impossible, get a small yes.
  • 3. Make them want to “buy” – Kill the Wolf, F.A.B. and Why Now?: present an idea or proposal in a way that makes the other person want to say yes. The Analogy Generator: make complex ideas easy to understand the first time.
  • 4. Adapt to the other person – Steer the Conversation, The Colours and Magic Words: the same message, delivered the way each person needs to hear it.
  • 5. Handle tension – E.A.R. model: respond to an angry customer, a tough objection or a disagreement without getting defensive.

AI in practice

AI role-plays to rehearse real conversations before you have them, plus a personal copilot (Gemini, ChatGPT or Copilot) trained on the course method to help you prepare for every meeting.

What will you gain?

  • Shorter conversations that end with a decision or commitment.
  • More “yeses” to your proposals—from clients, colleagues and managers.
  • The confidence to speak your mind without damaging the relationship.
  • A method you’ll keep using: your G.P.S. worksheet and your copilot.

Format

8 to 16 hours, in 2- to 4-hour sessions. In person or live online. Available in Spanish, English, French or Catalan. Eligible for FUNDAE funding. It’s the foundation for most of our bespoke programmes.

Frequently asked questions

How is this different from a public speaking course?

Public speaking focuses on how you speak to an audience. This programme focuses on how you lead a conversation to achieve an outcome: a meeting with a client, a request to another team or a disagreement with your manager.

Can it be tailored to my company?

Always. The practice scenarios are built around your real-life situations: with a sales team, for example, we practise using their own client visits.
